Events

Alarm full members can attend workshops and seminar on topics relevant to you and delivered at venues in your region for FREE. These regional workshops and seminars give Alarm members the opportunity to network and share best practice with other risk management professionals in their area.
Alarm members also can attend FREE Sector and Special Interest Group events, these sector groups include Fire, Police and Housing.
The Alarm Annual Learning & Development Forum and Exhibition is the UK’s premier public sector event, with access to over 40 hours of learning. Alarm members save 30% on delegate rates at the Learning and Development Forum. If you attend the Alarm Annual Learning and Development Forum, your membership will more than pay for itself. Members save £200* on the full delegate rate.

Alarm’s training partner, Maven Training, offers a wide variety of accredited courses including M_o_R^®, the only public sector specific course available in the UK, as well as PRINCE2^® and MSP^® at a discounted rate to Alarm members. Members also have access to the Alarm E-learning Portal and numerous other courses and events.
Alarm members can apply at a discounted rate to gain professional accreditation through the Registered Risk Practitioner Scheme.
Alarm members also receive discounts on training and CPD from Travelers, Gallagher Bassett and Marsh.

Risk Management Best Practice

Alarm members have exclusive access to best practice guidance documents from Alarm and other risk management organisations and service providers.
Alarm Members can also join the Alarm CIPFA Risk Management Benchmarking Club which provides a unique opportunity to record and benchmark your organisation’s risk management activities.
Members can also purchase at member rate the Risk Management Toolkit which provides a "how to" guide to the management of risk in public service organisations.
Members can enter for FREE the Alarm Annual Awards Scheme, where risk management excellence is rewarded.
Alarm conducts research and responds to external consultations on behalf of its members. In the past, Alarm has contributed to research by CABE, the Department of Constitutional Affairs and the Audit Commission.

Networking Opportunities

Members can benefit from the wealth of networking and knowledge sharing opportunities, including belonging to one of nine regional or country groups, giving access to local training, events and professional networks.
Members can join one of Alarm’s sector groups such as The Police and Fire Service Sector Groups which give Alarm members working in these services a forum for developing and sharing risk management best practice, tailored especially for their organisations.
Members can also be part of Special Interest Groups which are formed by Alarm members and external experts to conduct specific research or produce reports of particular interest to members. Special interest groups have recently published ‘Risk Management: Making a Difference’ and ‘Managing the Risk of Fraud: the Alarm Standard for Risk Advisors’.
