         2010 Awards Brochure Cover

As the premier public risk management association, Alarm has been recognising and rewarding excellence in public service risk management for more than 15 years.

Previous finalists in the People, Asset, Operational and Strategic Risk categories have demonstrated imaginative approaches to tackling risk issues relating to climate change, sustainability, anti-social behaviour, community health, security and corporate performance.  Their entries show the value of working with other departments and agencies, and of developing partnerships that can better ensure the outcomes they are seeking to achieve.

Our Risk Managers of the Year have been supreme examples of how an individual can make an impact on their organisation and their profession.  They have also acted as excellent ambassadors for Alarm, particularly when attending the PRIMA conference in the United States, as part of their award.

A new category of award in 2009, Risk Management Young Achiever of the Year, highlighted the considerable achievements of risk professionals who are still in the early stages of their careers.

Winning an award boosts staff morale and helps the profile of risk management within the organisation. Alarm would therefore like to thank all the entrants, the judges and the sponsors of these Awards – BEST, Risk Management Partners, Travelers and Zurich Municipal – for contributing to their continuing success.

Together we can ensure that achievements in public service risk management are highlighted and disseminated across the profession.
