Friday 19 February 2021

A cancer wellbeing centre has received a donation of £1,000, courtesy of Marsh and Andrew Knight, Insurance Technician at Trafford Council.

Andrew was the winner of Marsh’s prize draw at the 2019 ALARM Conference. The prize was a donation of £1,000 to a charity of the winner’s choice and Andrew kindly chose Trafford General Hospital Charity as the recipient. Andrew has asked the Charity use the money for the Trafford MacMillan Wellbeing Centre, situated at Trafford General Hospital – part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. The Centre provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer.

Yasmine El-Gabry, a volunteer coordinator at the wellbeing centre said: ”we are thankful to Andrew and everyone at Marsh for the donation. The money allows the centre to offer caring and personal support for the wellbeing of those in Trafford living with cancer and their families.”

Marsh has held a charity prize draw at the ALARM Conference for over ten years. Previous beneficiaries have included Myeloma UK, Chilterns MS Centre, Somerset Wildlife Trust, Blue Cross Animal Charity and Prostate Cancer UK.

Julia Reffell, Managing Director of Marsh's Public Sector Practice said: “we are delighted to be able to support Andrew’s chosen charity to help them continue the great work they do for those who have been affected by cancer.”
