We are proposing to develop a new Manager’s Accountability Tool, most likely in an electronic format and segmented into core governance and compliance sections.
The aim is to provide all existing and new line managers with an easy to comprehend reference guide linked to key policies, strategies and management documentation. The tool would also enable them to self-assess areas where they have a potential competency gap and signpost where to get additional training.
Have any ALARM members developed a similar accountability tool in recent years – and was this developed in-house or using external assistance?
TIA

HI Ken,
The website has a section employees, which gives them access to policies and training.
We do have some core HR Policies and induction training modules (EG e-learning) as well as Organisations Development (OD) Programs tailored towards different groups of employees EG leadership, members, social work, teachers etc. The content is developed by the specialists in their field (EG Safety, Data Protection, etc). The training links into Appraisal & Development Plans and Professional Training as required (EG Social Work, Teaching Bodies).
But the internet only provides a common area to access the information - not a single doc. There is a monthly managers e-bulletin of changes - giving hyperlinks to docs - but it relies on specialists keeping their content up to date.
The Governance Documents are also on the website EG standing orders. But they are pretty well hidden. The Annual Governance Statement (in the next Annual Accounts) will sign-post people to these. If you need the links, send me an email.
