Michael Stewart is Head of Litigation at the NHS Central Legal Office (CLO). He will deliver a short presentation on the work done by the CLO, explaining how legal services are delivered to the NHS in Scotland; discussing the type of legal issues which commonly arise for health boards; and describing the risk pooling scheme which supports the NHS response to claims. He will also consider some of the issues which have arisen as a result of joint working between local authorities and health boards since the passing of the Public Bodies (Joint Working) (Scotland) Act 2014.
