ALARMWhat involvement does your Local Authority have in respect of the insurance arrangements for Community Councils and Community Associations? Do you know what insurers are used and whether a broker facilitates this? If so, would you be willing to share this information with us?

We administer an insurance package for our community councils via Zurich. We don't use brokers. We've been running this for the last 20+ years. We don't arrange anything for community groups. I'm happy to chat it over in more detail if that helps. My email is frewam@angus.gov.uk.

Thanks Alison. We believed the insurance arrangements with Zurich for CCs to be running smoothly but I think the problem has been that some CCs have disbanded and then reformed, thus having to renew insurance and finding that the premiums have risen considerably.

We're the same as Alison, although it's our Legal Dept. that deal with the CCs direct, we arrange the cover with Zurich on their behalf.
